Sibling doula

If desired, we encourage children to be present for the welcoming of their new sibling. Sibling doulas create a safe space for little ones to be present with mom during labor and birth as much as the mother and child desire. This may look like frequent check-ins for some; for others, that is 1-2 visits with mom and the remainder of our time is spent outside, doing crafts, playing, reading books, having snacks, or resting.

Sibling doulas create a smooth transition for the older child into welcoming their new baby brother or sister. This gives laboring mother’s space to get into a birthing rhythm without having to worry about their older child. A sibling doula acts as an extra set of hands, which in turn creates beautiful memories for the family.
